Hello everyone! This weeks theme is Christmas Preparations so I'm going to show you what my family and I are doing to get ready for it...

This is our Christmas tree! 

We put out this snowman every year (see the snow in the background? Looks like we're going to have a white Christmas!).

This is a little musical Christmas tree...I honestly can't remember what song it plays xD

Christmas Preparations

Hi everyone!

This week's theme is Christmas preparations! (I took all these pictures besides the siggie, BTW)

It's funny because we just put up our Christmas tree a couple days ago. We don't have a house big enough to put up a full-sized tree, so we have a smaller sized silver one we put up.  

And, yeah...the top has a branch too big for a star, so we always put up an angel instead. 

And then we go and decorate the rest of the house! This is mini nativity set that was hand-carved by an acquaintance. 

And then, of course, there's doll Christmas pictures!

 I have NEVER spent Christmas at home before, not even when I was a baby. I usually spend Christmas at my grandfather's house. :)
But while we have fun with candy and presents, never forget the true meaning of Christmas! 

Christmas traditions! -Tuesday Addy

Okay I do not have any pictures for this post but I will tell you about our family traditions:

1. We get our tree the after Thanksgiving, with my whole family (which consists of all my siblings and my parents
2. We decorate it about 2 days later so that the branches can get used to the feel of our house
3. When we decorate it, We all get some egg nog and snicker-doodles and we listen to my dad read our favorite story for Christmas it's called ;Jotham's journey. Then we light the advent candles
4. We usually put up our felt Christmas calendar (You get to pull out a figure for each day of December and slowly build the nativity scene.
5. So through out that time we decorate our whole house (And I mean literally :) We also start our cooking and baking. We usually make more than we can eat. We also put up our stockings.
6. And that's when we do a Christmas party! Which before that we clean the whole house! Which is not very fun :)
7. By then I buy all my siblings gifts and then we put them under the tree!
8. When it is finally Christmas eve we go to our Grandma's house for a Christmas party. There we open up the gifts that our relatives got us then we go home and play with them until my mom gets the tea party ready.
9. We then have a really awesome tea party (we all wear red and white striped pajamas) and then we go down the line and say what we like best about our siblings. Then we go to our basement tree (which is made of homemade dec) and get our favorite flavored candy cane and we all sleep in our big brother's room.
10. Then the next day is Christmas!!!! We all get up and wake up our parents and then we open up our presents! And that is how my family celebrates Christmas

But I think this year will be a little different...What I just told you was the traditions we've been doing for 25 years. But now my two Brothers live somewhere else and my 3 older siblings work almost all the time so I'm not sure about this year being exactly like all the others but that's okay.

Preparing for Christmas-Jessica

Hi there!

This week's theme is Christmas Preparations, so I thought I'd write about how my family celebrates Christmas.

Since we are Ukrainian Catholic, we do things a bit differently.

First of all, our church uses the "old calendar", so we celebrate Christmas on January 7th instead of December 25th.

We also have a lot of fun traditions. Like how on St. Nicholas eve, us kids put out our shoes (and no cheating with more than one pair!) for our parents to hide little presents in.
We always end up waking early the next morning so we can find out what goodies they left for us!
Last year I got a scarf and some hair things, the year before I got a few bits of furniture and some Christmas lights for my dolls house, etc. it changes every year.

We generally get our Christmas tree and decorate it around that time, too, so it lasts until Christmas (we always get a real tree, because it smells nicer).

On Christmas Eve, we all carry the presents out and put them under the tree. We don't tend to put them under before that, because otherwise the little kids tend to "accidentally" rip them open a bit to see what's inside.

Then we'll have a big Christmas feast. My Mum makes lots of traditional Ukrainian Christmas food, like snowball cookies that melt in your mouth, crepes filled with sweet things like apple and berries, or meat ones for dinner, bread rolls shaped like birds and filled with jam with cloves for eyes, and little dumplings filled with bacon, cheese, potato, and/or meat.*

Sometimes we'll go to a special Midnight Church service, but since we moved houses, we don't have a Ukrainian Catholic church nearby anymore, so we probably won't this year, unless our priest comes up to visit.

I really love Christmas, it's probably my favourite time of the year.

Friday - Cute Hair!

    Hello guys! This is Guinea Pig Lover. I was originally going to do a tutorial with a video and all, but then my computer wouldn't work and it deleted the video! :( So I'm going to have to stick with hairstyles that I like from Pinterest. By the way, I was super excited for this weeks theme(ask any of the other 7)! Like, REALLY EXCITED! XD
    And I know it's late, but technically it is still Friday! LOL! But on with the hair!

I was going to do a fishtail ponytail braid tutorial...


I did NOT say that I loved Frozen, but I do like this hairstyle! Great for thick hair, like mine!

I know, it's winter where I live, but you might be starting summer where you live, plus this is for all around the year!

I like this-especially since I know how to do it!

Hi everyone! 

This week's theme is hair! Posting completely left my mind until the last minute and it's like 11:00 at night right now, so I'm just going to post a cool hair tutorial I found on Pinterest. XD Enjoy!

Hey everyone!
Since this week's theme is hair, I thought I'd do a list of hairstyles I have to try.
As you probably know, here in Australia, it's the first day of summer-yippeee!
So, without further ado, here we go:

I've always wanted to know how to do a celtic knot in my hair like this, it would also be perfect for St. Patrick's day.

This braided ballerina bun is so pretty, the braid embellishes it enough that you wouldn't have to add any extra accessories. There are written instructions for it Here.

Seriously, where has this been my entire life? I almost never have time to do my hair (other than a couple of strokes with a brush and a pony tail if I'm lucky) before school and have it actually look acceptable, I can see myself using this list a lot!

OOTD: Church!

Hello guys! Sense my day is Sunday and this weeks theme is fashion.... I decided to do a outfit of the day for church!

I wear these boots all the time because I think they are so cute and I love that they look vintage. They are very nice quality.

The back view. My tights look purple but they are a cranberry color.
